    Broadcat Marketing

    Understanding the Goal

As Broadcat continued to grow, the need for a stronger marketing presence became increasingly important. The challenge was not just creating more content, but creating the right content. Materials that communicated what Broadcat did, why it mattered, and how its products could help organizations.

My role was to help translate Broadcat’s ideas and services into clear, engaging experiences across a variety of platforms. Whether someone was discovering the company through a social post, watching a video, browsing the website, or reading a printed resource, each touchpoint needed to feel connected and recognizable.

    Building the Brand Experience

Marketing projects often required balancing creativity with consistency. I helped create a wide range of materials while maintaining a unified visual language that reflected Broadcat’s personality and mission.

Motion became one of my favorite areas to explore. I created commercial videos, animated SVGs, and social content that brought the brand to life through movement and interaction. These projects also helped establish a more dynamic way for Broadcat to communicate ideas that were often complex or difficult to explain through static visuals alone.

    Improving the Digital Experience

While my original role was focused primarily on design, I saw opportunities to improve Broadcat’s digital presence and volunteered to help update the website experience.

The website needed a visual refresh, improved organization, and a more polished presentation of Broadcat’s products and services. Additionally a more consistent and easier to edit back end for the rest of the team.

I also helped overhaul the e-commerce experience, working through both the design and technical challenges required to bring the new storefront to life.

Although much of the process involved backend work and coding outside my typical design responsibilities, it expanded my understanding of how design decisions connect with the systems that support them.

Bringing Ideas Into the Physical World

Beyond digital experiences, I helped create a wide range of printed marketing materials, including flyers, booklets, and other resources used to showcase Broadcat’s products and services.

These projects reinforced the importance of designing for different environments. A piece viewed on a screen, shared online, or printed for a customer all require different considerations while still needing to feel like part of the same brand system.

    Looking Back

The marketing work I contributed to over four years helped Broadcat build a stronger and more recognizable presence across many different channels.

The experience reinforced the value of consistency across every customer touchpoint. Whether creating an animated video, updating a website, or designing a printed resource, the goal remained the same: make information clearer, create meaningful connections, and help people better understand what Broadcat offers.

    Broadcat Training Videos

    Initial assessment

Broadcats previous video creation pipeline had difficult and time-consuming steps, especially with client customization.

Creating and exporting individual PNG assets, manually placing elements, re-adding animations, and lengthy communication times were common issues.

Much of the work, mainly done by third parties, resulted in unclean files so I offered to research and improve the process.

    Pipeline Research

I had no knowledge of motion graphics, video production, or anything in the field before this, so I began with the basics.

As a lifelong artist, illustrator, and graphic designer I naturally gravitated towards the animation side of things looking through books like “The Animator’s Survivors Kit”.

Then I consumed tons of behind the scenes content to learn some lingo and finally more in depth items based on research like style frames, storyboards, timing, schedules, etc.

    Implementation

With all of this new found knowledge I created a full pipeline, the team helped to implement this in Asana as a workflow, and the amount of videos we were able to write, edit, finalize, and even customize exploded!

    Looking Back

Bringing production in-house reduced outsourcing costs, shortened production timelines, and gave the company complete control over its training content.

The modular workflow, shared templates, and motion language created a scalable production system that made customization efficient, maintained visual consistency across projects, and enabled junior designers to contribute with confidence.

The experience shaped my approach to motion design, where building sustainable creative systems is just as important as creating the final product.
