Broadcat Training Videos

Overview:

I developed a complete and in-house production pipeline that handled every stage of the project, from scripting and storyboarding to motion graphics, editing, and final delivery.

To keep production consistent and make client customizations simple for other designers, I built a modular system using linked assets, reusable templates, and even defined a motion language.

Disciplines:

Initial assessment

Broadcats previous video creation pipeline had difficult and time-consuming steps, especially with client customization.

Creating and exporting individual PNG assets, manually placing elements, re-adding animations, and lengthy communication times were common issues.

Much of the work, mainly done by third parties, resulted in unclean files so I offered to research and improve the process.

Pipeline Research

I had no knowledge of motion graphics, video production, or anything in the field before this, so I began with the basics.

As a lifelong artist, illustrator, and graphic designer I naturally gravitated towards the animation side of things looking through books like “The Animator’s Survivors Kit”.

Then I consumed tons of behind the scenes content to learn some lingo and finally more in depth items based on research like style frames, storyboards, timing, schedules, etc.

Implementation

With all of this new found knowledge I created a full pipeline, the team helped to implement this in Asana as a workflow, and the amount of videos we were able to write, edit, finalize, and even customize exploded!

Looking Back

Bringing production in-house reduced outsourcing costs, shortened production timelines, and gave the company complete control over its training content.

The modular workflow, shared templates, and motion language created a scalable production system that made customization efficient, maintained visual consistency across projects, and enabled junior designers to contribute with confidence.

The experience shaped my approach to motion design, where building sustainable creative systems is just as important as creating the final product.
